SECURE THE BORDER
Galveston County was one of the first non-border counties in Texas to send law enforcement to assist with securing the border. Jimmy Fullen was appointed to coordinate the interagency response of the Galveston County Southern Border Taskforce created under a Disaster Declaration by County Judge Mark Henry in 2021. Since that time, Galveston County law enforcement has assisted with thousands of arrests and apprehensions that have stopped violent gang members, human traffickers, and deadly drugs from coming across the border and spilling into our local communities.
As Sheriff, Jimmy Fullen will continue coordinating the interagency response sending resources to the border to assist in slowing the spread of violent crime and deadly drugs from coming into our county.
PUBLIC SAFETY
Galveston County is seeing the negative impacts of the dangerous woke liberal policies of open borders and the catch-and-release of violent criminals. We are seeing the impacts locally with gang activity, violent crime, and deadly fentanyl overdoses. Galveston County ranked #2 in Texas for Fentanyl overdoses just last year - that is inexcusable and it’s time for new leadership in the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.
As Sheriff, Jimmy Fullen will dedicate extra resources to increase proactive policing on our streets and work with regional, state, and federal agencies to improve public safety in Galveston County.
RECRUITMENT & RETENTION
In today’s national political environment with the woke left’s defund the police movement, local law enforcement agencies are struggling to recruit and retain police officers.
As Sheriff, Jimmy Fullen will implement new approaches to agency recruitment with updated policies and incentives. This includes a detailed plan to implement new policies in an effort to boost morale and provide new professional development programs that will allow for advancement opportunities for deputies.
NATIONAL STANDARDS & ACCREDITATION
As Sheriff, Jimmy Fullen plans to overhaul the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures to set professional standards and finally become nationally accredited.
This will reduce lawsuits and liability for the county, increase performance, and better prepare the Sheriff’s office for natural and man-made disasters.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office makes up the largest departmental budget for Galveston County. We need a sheriff who will be mindful of our tax dollars and fiscally responsible while also ensuring that our officers have what they need to keep our communities safe.
As Sheriff, Jimmy Fullen will provide the leadership necessary in reassessing the structure of the office to prioritize staffing and budgets in areas needed most to increase public safety without placing additional burdens on county taxpayers.

We need a sheriff who will stand up and protect our Constitutional Rights and Freedoms. As Sheriff, Jimmy Fullen will aggressively defend our God-given Rights as Americans.
